Goodbye NYC

So today is the day. The evil day of leaving. It's not that I'm not excited to see Michigan people or that I hate Michigan but come on it cannot even come close to comparing to NYC! Today I got up and ready and went down to Union Square and was immediately sad and almost drawn to tears. So I went and bought some yarn! Yay! I got some Stainless Steel Wool (weird right?) and some fun other stuff. Then decided to walk from there to 42nd Street and just enjoyed the fact that it is a gorgeous day here.

Came back and now that leaves us here. I'm going to start re-packing in a few then eat and maybe get a nap in if possible. I'm super tired already. I have a car coming at 4:45pm to go to the airport. I'm glad to have that as I'm super anxiety traveler and hate my life until I get to the gate. Even then I'm a mess, I hate flying so wooo!!!

Oh well.

I am really going to miss Nyc but I've had lots of fun times...I will not miss the slow walkers that have to walk down the middle of the sidewalk leaving you no room to pass them or walking in the slushy snow on slippery sidewalks and dangerous stairs to the subway. But really those things can and are overlooked with the fact that I love it here. I am truly not meant for a life outside of a city. And it will happen, just not right now I guess. Too much upheave with the economy? We can generally blame our problems on the economy right? That's what I do anyway.

Anyway take care and this will probably be the last blog as life in Alpena is not that exciting but who knows where I might end up next! I sure don't!

Last few days :(

So I don't think I blogged yesterday. I got up yesterday super early and met up with Elissa. Got to see her before she left for Cancun...which is exciting for her but sad for me, no Red Bamboo!

After that I went to Union Square and got some groceries and walked around for a bit then went to Madison Square Park and got SHAKE SHACK!!! Delicious. Oh and I randomly came upon Joey Ramone Place, wtf.

After that came home and ate and tried to nap then I went to Central Park and then to Lush which is always amazing. After that just came back adn watched basketball and went to bed.

Today I got up early again and did some laundry and hung out for the morning and watched my Louisville Cardinals lose :( That was sad. After that went down to Brooklyn Bridge and then walked from there to 51st street which is a helluva walk and then came back here. Was going to start packing today but I'm way too tired. I think tomrorow I shall be able to get it all done anyway, it's all packed pretty much just some re-arranging to be done.

Tomorrow is the last FULL day in NYC which is so sad. I do not want to leave at all. I've had a ton of fun here, reconnecting with Elissa, going to basketball games and getting wasted, shopping, walking around all the time...I could go on and on but I will not because I'm way too tired to even type.

But I will miss you NYC.

Friday, March 27, 2009

We're down to less than five days. Which is so lame but I don't wanna talk about it.

Today I got up and ready and mailed a package home then walked from my place to H&M and the NBA Store for some shopping then I went to go to Shake Shack but the line was ridiculously long, like 100 people at least long so I figured screw it and came home and ate then tried to nap then went to the park and read...then dinner and now watching basketball.

Whoop.

Tomorrow I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do but def Brooklyn Bridge then getting a delicious dinner for the big Pittsburgh vs. Villanova game at 7pm, I clearly have no priorities.

Busier days

Today was pretty full....I got up and ready and ended up meeting Elissa and Kent for lunch which was delicious as per usual and we didn't even go to Red Bamboo! Shocker!

After that I came home and had a phone interview for a hotel in Martha's Vineyard...longest phone interview ever. And we'll see how that goes...it's got to wait until I find out about the Chelsea and Ann Arbor.

After that I met Elissa downtown and went shopping with her for a bit then had coffee with her and walked her to work and came back...it started raining like crazy so I've been just hanging out here.

Tomorrow I have big plans for SHAKE SHACK!!! And a few other things. Mailing a package things like that...we'll see.

I'm off to watch some basketball and go to bed. Sooooo tired.

I refuse to leave.

The end. I'm not leaving NYC. I refuse.

I am going to be one depressed little girl if I do not get a job at the Hotel Chelsea or at least in Ann Arbor. Lame.

Today was SUCH a good day. I got up and went to the Met and walked around there...I could've spend HOURS it was a damn fine museum. Lots of different stuff. Not as good as the V&A mind you but good still. Then I met Elissa and Kent for lunch and Red Bamboo...yeah like we didn't go there. I love their food! Amazing as always. Then we walked around for a bit and then we all went our separate ways...I came home and attempted a nap which did not happen and then went to the Knicks game!!!

I love basketball which is something that is just an open secret as of late. I had SO much fun. I went and the first quarter was amazing then the 2nd not so much...they were up by 20 and by the end (which was OVERTIME) they lost by five. LAME. I got a little bit drunker than I would like to admit but whatever I had fun.

The best part of the game, outside of the coaches, was when I was walking in...two dudes..

Dude #1 says "If I was a Knicks City dancer I'd strip during the day and dance for the Knicks at night."

What? HORRIBLE idea and something only a dude would come up with. Oy. Made me laugh though. And I managed to clear out a WHOLE row of people, yeah get away now thank you. It was great. Oh well.

But anyway I do not want to leave NYC at all. It's lame that I have to but I'm hoping and hoping and hoping you all will do whatever it is you do to hope with me that I get a job here and can stay. At first I have to admit I was a little blasé about staying here at first and wasn't sure if it was for me but really? I mean come on. It's New York City. Of course it's for me. Expensive and shopping and restaurants and sexy older men, YES SIGN ME UP!

I remember you well at the Chelsea Hotel...

So yeah about that blogging.

Didn't do it yesterday so sorry about that. Yesterday I had my interview at the Hotel Chelsea. I think it went well and I would definately love to work there, it would be a challenge but in a good way so no complaints! It was cool to at least have a valid excuse to go there and I got to see some rooms so that was good too.

After that it was freezing BUT I managed to obtain NO lines at the Shake Shack at Madison Square Park so I had to take advantage of this and I got a 'Shroom Burger and fries...ooooohmy. So delicious. Danny Meyer, you have out done yourself again. Well played.

After that I came home and ate my delicious food and then went out and about again, nothing too crazy went on. Actually ended up sitting in Madison Square Park again for awhile secretly egging people not to get into line at Shake Shack as if there was no line I was so going again, they did not get my subconsious willing though. Dang.

Came home and hung out.

Today got up and ready and went out and about just a few places and then back here. Going to possibly go out and about tonight depending on how I feel, I am exhausted but only one week left here in NYC. :(

Tomorrow I think I'm going to go to the Met and then downtown for some recommended food and then not sure. Thursday I have an interview at a hotel in Martha's Vineyard so I'm going to do that and then go to the Empire State Building at dusk and then not sure. Friday I'm going to head to Brooklyn Bridge area and explore and there is a valid excuse to head to Shake Shack as the custard flavor of the day is Cinammon Toast, yeah I'm there.

Anwyay just going ot hang out for a bit more then who knows.

The end of the weekend

I would say it's the end of the weekend but that really doesn't mean anything to me as I do not work.

Today I got up and watched Rock of Love, not as fun without Ashley and Farrah, what the French?

Then I went down to H&M to see what I couldn't find but decided on just wearing what I own as that is cheaper. I walked home from there, 51-92nd not too bad. After that went to the drugstore and got some amazingness...

Hairspray

Ghiradelli Milk Chocolate & Peanut Butter

Funyuns

Mt. Dew

People Magazine

Rice noodle bowl.

Best trip to the store ever? Possibly.

After that just came home and naturally got sucked into NCAA basketball. Now I look like death and am tired like whoa. So I'm really tired but it's okay because I get to sleep now.

Tomorrow is the interview then depending on the weather might go to the Empire State Building tomorrow night. Who knows.

It's almost less than a week here. Scandalous I know. I'm not happy about it but at least I've had fun here and got to pucker up with Russell Brand!

Saturday

Today was a pretty normal Saturday. I got up and went for a walk down to the East River and then to Starbucks for a sandwich and coffee. Then came back and watched some basketball. Thank you Villanova for being so awesome and winning by 20 points, if you could go ahead and keep that up my brackets would thank you.
After that this evening I went to Red Bamboo with Elissa and Kent. It was delicious as per usual. We walked around for a bit then they were going to watch Twilight so instead I came back here. Tomorrow I might go with them to Staten Island for brunch then back here to watch some more basketball and get ready for the interview on Monday!!!
I'm interviewing for the Housekeeping Supervisor position at the Hotel Chelsea!!! Woooo!!!
Anyway I'm off to bed but g'nite all!

Friday, March 20, 2009

HAHA!

I remembered today. I am on my way to bed and I was going through my web addresses and BAM there was the blog.
Today was far from exciting. I went out and went to Whole Foods. Told you. Not exciting.
Tomrorow should be about the same as the Villanova/UCLA game is on at 1pm. Yep I have March Madness, I cannot even stop checking my brackets. It's stupid.
Anyway. That's all but I remembered so ha!

So basically every night as I'm falling asleep I think dammit I did not blog. Sorry. I'm not that great at it.

Yesterday....let's see....I got up early and had a phone interview with a hotel in Ann Arbor then just hung out and went to another interview that was at a hotel but for a hospital? Anyway I went there and there was the registration table but no one there so I nosed around for a bit then went to the front desk, they didn't know anything so I left and went to the MoMA instead and got a few things and then walked around 5th for a bit doing some window shopping then came home and watched BASKETBALL GAMES!

I have to say I'm pretty impressed. My worst bracket right now is 14/16. Holla!!! Stupid Minnesota really jacked me up on all my brackets, I put faith in you and this is what you do to me? Unreal.

Also yesterday I got an email and now have a job interview for a housekeeping supervisor position at the Hotel Chelsea here in NY. If you don't know the Hotel Chelsea, google it. It's iconic.

Today I'm going to hang out for a bit as it's snowing? Lame. Then just going to Whole Foods as I have no food.

That's about it for fun today. I'm just terrified if I enter a store my willpower will (as it usually does) go out the window and BAM there I am with an armful of magazines I don't need or something like that. Plus tonight is MORE basketball, Louisville plays at 7pm!!!

So that's that for now. I'll try to blog more often or at least on the day of said blogging actitivies. We shall see how well that works though.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Yeah..

I'm really not great at this updating thing. Sorry. Just more on my mind than this I think. Just bummed about leaving but that's neither here nor there.

Yesterday...Hmmmm...I don't even remember what I did yesterday. Oh it was St. Patrick's Day. I went out earlish and went shopping which was a good idea as everyone was either at work, drinking, or drunk so no one was shopping. I bought something for Miss Jenna for her birthday and that was it. After that I tried to go a few other places but I was just done with the people so I went home instead. I did get a glimpse of the St. Patrick's Day parade, lots of drunks and Irish flags. Yippee. Then to top off that day I did laundry. Get excited.

Today I got up and went downtown to the Virgin Records at Union Square hoping they were in sale mode as well but they were not. So I went to Barnes & Noble then went from 14th on Broadway down to Little Italy. I was hoping to do lunch there but I already ate so oh well. So I went to the shoe store that use to be John Gotti's hangout. I wanted to go in but temptation told me not to. I knew if I went in then there was a HUGE possibility that I would be buying something that I didn't need to buy. Then I walked around down there for a bit then went back to Union Square and took the subway to 42nd Street....from there I walked around and went to Columbus Circle and did a little shopping, or rather window shopping. Then I went to the park as it was gorgeous outside and read for a bit and then came back here and have just been hanging out.

Tomorrow I have a phone interview and a face to face interview so that'll keep me busy and probably heading to the MoMA to get a few things for presents then just back here for the night...or at least that's the plan depending on the weather. Might try a movie? I don't know. We shall see.

Anyway just enjoying the last few days in NYC. Lame.

NYC

Also it should be known that sadly I had to purchase a ticket back to Michigan today. Two months here without a job has drained my savings...no regrets though. I have loved every minute here...outside of the outstanding phone bill.

Nothing has been better but it's just not working out right now which sucks a lot.

I will def miss you NYC. Frank was wrong..I can make it in London but not here. Wtf Frank, this is clearly why I'm a Dean Martin girl.

Don't ever change, don't ever worry

Because I'm coming back home tomorrow

To 14th Street where I won't hurry

Where I'll learn how to save not just borrow

And they'll be rainbows

And we will finally know

Why'd you have to break all my heart

Couldn't you have saved a little bit of it

Why'd you have to break all my heart

Couldn't you have saved a minor part

Rufus Wainwright

14th Street

So while it's on my mind I'm going to blog as I am making it a hobby not to.

Yesterday was actually close to being a Perfect Sunday. It's a proper noun. I got up and watched stupid Vh1 shows all morning. My girl got eliminated on Rock of Love. Lame. And then I met Elissa....we went on a adventure and then went to RED BAMBOO which is becoming the love of my life. We had some delicious soy protein then went out and about and took pictures of the Joey Ramone and Billie Joe dolls!

This is quite the tradition as some of you might know. Billie Joe is a somewhat recent addition to the family but Joey has traveled to Toronto, Niagara Falls, and London (where he was joined by his brother Billie Joe). Also Joey spent one day working at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort as a reservationist. What a guy.

So we spent most of the time just in the village roaming around with the boys. It was fun and always a laugh.

After that just came home and hung out and wanted to go to bed early...yeah that didn't happen. I went to bed at, are you ready? 4:30am. Who even does that? Me apparently. I have to say I was not impressed at all.

Today I got up and tried to visit a bed and breakfast I interviewed at, of course I couldn't get in? Weird. Anyway I was tired as hell and did not have a very successful day. Two rejection letters from companies and one was one I was really interested in. Not a good time. So I spent the afternoon job hunting and am pretty much at my wits end.

Bonus, I got mail from Jalen Rose and I have a sleep aid running through me.

Word.

If you want to see the Billie Joe and Joey pics let me know. Also if someone has an idea of where Joey Ramone Place is, please let me know as I am here to tell you it is NOT at Bowery and E 2nd. It really isn't.

Crabby what?

Today I was beyond crabby so I didn't spent too much time outside of just watching tv and trying to not be a total bitch out in public.
I watched tv and then went into the city and went to Virgin Records at Times Square which was a mistake on a Saturday afternoon but it was fun anyway. They are going out of business so I got a good deal on some cds! Holla! After that I went for a walk and went to Bryant Park and walked around there and sat and talked for a bit to Lisa and then came home.
Nothing too exciting but am now watching the Louisville vs. Syracuse game. It's a pretty good game and I'm hoping there isn't six overtimes!
Tomorrow I'm going to lunch with Elissa and then you'll see tomorrow!
I'm off to finish the game and knit and then go to bed!

Yesterday

I'm not getting very far with this updating everyday business. I tend to forget. Oops.

Yesterday I got up and ready and went to the American History Museum. Turns out, I'm not that interested in history. It was a good museum and they had some pretty cool exhibits...however. I don't like rocks, minerals, or animals (sounds like I"m trying to play 20 questions) and that was a good bulk of the museum. The minerals were actually more interesting than the animals. I don't like looking at real animals let alone dead ones or replicas of animals. The only part I really liked was the Asian Peoples and the African Peoples because it was more about their cultures. It was pretty interesting. Although I have to say I am pretty freaking jealous of the salmon the indians in this pic above have...so jealous.

After that just walked through the park and got some groceries and spend the night hanging out. Today is about the same. I'm tired and Saturday is my least favorite day to go out and about as EVERYONE is out and about.

Tomorrow I might be going out and about with Elissa for brunch or lunch and then going on a secret mission which if we suceed you will see many pics tomorrow.

So that is all.

the end.

March Madness

GAME DAY!!! Today was a good day. I got up early...well sort of and got ready and made spaghetti for breakfast which was delicious and then went to get my ticket for basketball!

All afternoon...

It was fantastic. I'm okay with the fact that this might be a little weird for some of you but I love it. College basketball that is.

Anyway the first game was Louisville vs. Providence and of course we (Louisville) won. Duh, like we wouldn't! It was fun, I got a pretzel and a beer just sat and enjoyed the game. Loved it!

After that was Villanova and Marquette...I stayed until halftime for this one as they were a SLOW moving game and the people around me were getting SCHWASTED and being toolish so I couldn't handle it anymore without a third beer and if I did that it would've been bad news. So I left and came back here and have just been hanging out.

I did not go to the Russell show as I didn't get it and neither did the box office at the venue or Barnes and Noble which is just as well, I'm pretty excited to sleep.

Tomorrow I think I'll be going to the Natural History Museum and then not sure...Oh well of course I'll be watching the Louisville/Villanova game at 7pm!

Any suggestions of what else to do while here?

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Sorry.

Also I forgot to tell the environment that I was sorry. I really laid the hairspray on thick today/mostly tonight. I apolgize, tonight's all on me.

I kissed...

So today was quite a busy day! I got up early, and it wasn't as brutal as Monday so that was nice. I got up and ready and went to a temp service and they were nice and didn't diss my fashion choices like the other one I went to so I was there for a bit, came back to the apartment and had a phone interview...then just ate and hung out then went to another interview for a B&B manager position here on the Upper East Side...Then came home and was totally crabby and done for the day.

However, it was not yet done.

I went to Barnes & Noble in Union Square to the Russell Brand book signing. Now for those of you not in the know, Russell is a British comedian that I have loved since I was in London. He's fabulously sexy. Anyway so his book came out here in the States yesterday, perhaps you might have seen him on a few morning shows/late night talk shows? Or in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Or Bedtime Stories, point is he's fab and I love him. Anyway so I went to the book signing around 5:45 and I'm glad I got there early there were TONS of people there. It was great though, he talked for a bit then everyone got to have their books signed and I got a ticket to his concert tomorrow night...I think anyway. It's a bookmark with a number on the back? I have to really firm up details but if it is a ticket I'm well excited!

BUT...

Here's the best part. Okay maybe my shirt was a bit low but I got up there and he said "Well aren't you a woman" and I said "Thank you?" and he signed my book and asked me for a kiss! Duh! Like I didn't! So I got to kiss Russell Brand! YAY! He was throwing out the kisses but the girls were mainly asking for them or he was just doing the cheek kiss so clearly mine was special as HE asked for it. Like I wouldn't have asked him for one if he wouldn't have asked me...right. YAY so exciting! It was the best night EVER.

So you should probably google him if you don't know who he is so you can see the lips that touched mine. Wasn't quite dancing over to Dave Foley and Dave kicking out his leg for the pic with me or my mother stalking Tom Jones, yeah she did it--ask for details if you really want to know long story short she ditched me for TJ.

Anyway I'm exhausted and have a big day tomorrow!

I have TWO college basketball games to go to...first is

Louisville vs. Providence (who cares about Providence? I mean really.)

and then

Villanova vs. Marquette

I'm personally looking forward to lots of carbs (nachos and pretzels) and beer all afternoon.

And then if this is a ticket to Russell's show, clearly I'm going!

YAY!

Best day ever? It could very well be...because I got to kiss Russell Brand.

Nyc

So today was okay. Nothing too exciting, I was ubertired as I didn't sleep again, but we might have covered this already...

After that just went out for a bit and went to Union Square. I went to the Lion Brand Studio Yarn Store...lost my mind! There were so many delicious yarns! I got some cashmere, with attached photo from the store....only $ 14 for 82 yards! I got the blue, two skeins. What should I make? But whatta deal right? I know I know. I also got my mom a birthday present, it was the suggestion of the clerk.

Then went to Union Square and watched people and talked to Lisa then went to Whole Foods and got TOFURKY and TOFURKY JERKY! Best day ever.

Then just came home and have been hanging out.

I have THREE interviews tomorrow. Crazy right? Then I'm coming back to nap and shower and then I'm going to Russell Brand's book signing which I am pretty excited about!

Thursday is game day so holla for lots of carbs!

So yesterday I completely flaked on writing a blog and by the time I remembered I had already shut off the computer so it was a done deal. Sorry if anyone was anxiously awaiting a post...I doubt that very much.

Yesterday I got up early which nearly killed me and went to an interview. It was more of a pre-screening type deal and then after just went back here, took a nap, bought new headphones and voila! You have my day.

Today I am extremely tired and crabby as I didn't fall asleep as early as I wanted to last night. I think I'm going to take a walk here in a few and go to Whole Foods. Might stop by Bleecker and Joey Ramone Place but I sort of feel like that is a wasted trip without the Joey doll. :( I need to enlist Elissa to take a trip around NYC with me and Joey and Billie Joe. I really would feel just slightly retarded walking aroudn with my knitted dolls taking pics.

Ha I just had a thought of me posting a craigslist ad for someone to help with the knitted doll crisis, like that won't bring out the crazies.

Anyway I am off to do something, what I do not know.

Look at how sad the kids are being stuck on the Upper East Side. :(

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Ugh what the heck yo. I had a nice long blog typed out and then nothing. That sucks way much.

Long story short. Today was a good day with lots of delicious food.

Watched Rock of Love this morning, next week looks AMAZING.

Went to lunch with Elissa and her friend Sue at Red Bamboo which is sooo good. Lots of soy protein, loves it! And Elissa got a milkshake. It did not bring boys to the yard.

Then came home briefly to change and get directions then met up with Kayla from the island and we were originally going to this restaurant called Tea & Sympathy but it was too busy so we went to Little Italy instead. It was soooo good. I love the food there. I don't care what anyone says. Lots of men that want to flatter you into their restaurant and Dean Martin playing in the restaurant, yeah I'm there. And I got cannoli.

After that just came home and got a ticket to the Big East Tournament games for Thursday afternoon which I am very excited about. Beer, pretzels, and nachos. Holla.

Okay I'm totally tired and have to get up early for an interview.

A blurry pic of Grand Central for you.

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Oh dear.

So I already gave the dl about today...but the real decision for today is...Do I spent the money to go to the Big East Tournament games? Yeah it's true I have March Madness...I'm getting excited. Thursday at 12pm would be the Louisville game. Any insights, it's not like I have anything else to do and I think I might enjoy that more than the Russell Brand show.

I NEED INPUT! Tickets will be bought tomorrow if I buy them!

65? what?

65-70 just seems a bit warm for March to me. Guess that makes me a true Michigan girl eh? It's blowing my mind how warm it is! It's good though, don't get me wrong!
Today, after another night of not sleeping much, I got up and ready and headed off...I walked through the Park and went to Lush...Oh Lush I love you. I got a few goodies then headed down Broadway and went and walked around and talked to Mira for a long time, which was excellent! I ended up a Rockefeller and just sat for awhile and chatted with her...then I went to Magnolia and got some delicious, or I'm assuming they will be delicious, cheesecakes. I got Key Lime and Caramel and Pecan...Oooo yeah.
After that talked with Lisa and headed back to the Upper East Side, got some food and have just been hanging out.
Tonight I was thinking about going out and about but that just sounds hard so I'm going to instead just hang out then watch the game then go to bed.
Holla.

Something to think about.

Just a quick vent.
Why do people always assume that what they like is what you like or want from life? I have never understood that.
Like just because you might want a relationship and to get married and have all that why on Earth would you assume that's what I want out of life? Someone said something very similar to that to me the other day and I was blown away. Really? They said having a relationship was better than the alternative of being alone for the rest of your life. Well, I'd say that's a matter of opinion beyond a doubt. I'd rather be alone and happy then in a needy or miserable relationship.
I don't know, just bothers me. Maybe because I'm open minded and let people make their own decisions and don't judge based on their beliefs...but you bet your ass I judge you on your fashion choices, hair, and shoes.
Just throwing that out there. Really?

"They assume that I want a boyfriend, and yeah, that I'd probably like to have a baby and get married - but they're wrong.”Amy Sedaris, how I LOVE HER!

Friday, March 6, 2009

Look what the cat dragged in.

Oh my. So today was overall pretty freaking lazy but whatever. Like I said, I don't have to impress/entertain you everyday I'm here. You try going out EVERY day and doing something new and fun, it's tiring. Trust me.
I did get up early though and got a call about an interview so I'm going to an interview on Monday morning. Holla.
After that I realized that if I did want to do this interview on Monday that I would have to do laundry beforehand so I decided to do laundry this morning. Wasn't too bad. Then just did some things around here, like applying for jobs and all that...then I got an impromptu call regarding setting up a phone interview for a hotel in Charleston so I will be doing that next week. Then I had an interview again after that! Whew!
After that I went for a walk and was STARVING so I came home and ate and just hung out and yeah I took a nap. Yay!
Then just ate dinner and all that and just went for a walk from here to 72nd so about 50 blocks in total. Since then have been hanging out and now clearly, I'm watching the E! True Hollywood Story of Bret Michaels...Ummmm duh like I wouldn't be.
Not sure what's going to do tomorrow. We'll see.
Off to watch Bret. It's going to be awesome, killer, and will turn Bret on.

RIP Snow Fairy

RIP Snow Fairy Shower gel, you will be sorely missed. You are sugary sweet and lovely. I will miss you dearly but Rub Rub Rub shall be a good replacement for you I think.

Fair thee well Snow Fairy...
Still pretty frustrated on what to do with being here and no job and the attempt to find a new job. I spent today searching and plan to do more tomorrow.. Yippee.
This will be a short post, I'm too tired.
Just looked for jobs this morning then this afternoon went wandering around. Bonus is that the Virgin MegaStores are closing here so 30% off. Holla.
And...that was about it for excitment.
Trying to think about what to wear to the Russell Brand signing, any suggestions?
Also, am thinking about going to a debate on Monday...it's Bill Maher *yay* and Ann Coulter *bitch* so might do that. Could be fun!
I'm going to bed. Way too tired.

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Frustration.

I am so frustrated. I really really really want to just stay in New York but there are apparently no jobs here like the rest of the country so I haven't found anything. I'm starting to get a little worried about it as realistically, April is coming up soon.
Lame.
Just had to get that out there.
Today I got up early and got ready and I don't know why I had to share that with you everytime I blog. Anyway.
I went to Chinatown for a job interview today. I got there ridiculously early so I'm pretty sure the residents of Division Street to Allen Street think I'm stalking them, my apologies. It went well but the hotel isn't open yet. Great so we'll see how things go I guess. After that I wandered around but wandering around in the cold in a skirt isn't that much fun as it turns out. I went to Little Italy...thinking of going back there tomorrow for some cannoli. Yum.
After that I went to Whole Foods and forgot to get Tofurky, wtf. And I finally found where they keep the Tofurky Jerky. So basically that means I have to go back tomorrow. Dur.
After that just came home and applied for some jobs then at 6 I went to a knitting group which was fun. I was afraid they were going to make fun of me because I'm knitting plastic right now but they were all amazed so suck it! Then just came home.
Tomorrow is going to be applying for jobs, I seriously need some ideas of where else to look, anyone??? Ideas????? After that I might head back to Little Italy for the cannoli as previously mentioned and Union Square for Whole Foods..maybe a yarn shop. Who knows.

Ps No pic today as blogger is being a bitch about it. go to bed blogger and stop being like that. jerk.

Tuesday

Tuesday seems to be my down day for some reason. Today just got up and applied for jobs all day, I didn't feel fantastic. I blame the puddles from yesterday chilling me to the bone. Did go to the grocery store and got some stuff, was pretty stoked to get some COFFEE ice cream, one of the pleasures of life.

Just been job hunting since then. I'm getting super anxious about the job situation and am feeling rather unemployable. :( Not a fun feeling. I do have another job interview tomorrow but I don't think the money is going to be enough to support myself here. Bah.

So if anyone has any ideas for places to check for jobs, let me know because I'm getting desperate. I was applying on Mackinac Island today. yeah, it's reached a new low.

As Kids in the Hall say "The only thing worse than not having a job is looking for one. " ...Although they also say "If I can't keep Mr. Stevenson, I'm gonna hold my breath until I turn gay. "

Wheel...of....FORTUNE

Okay also I forgot to mention that I am a huge fan of the fact that Lisa and I can watch the Wheel at the same hour, but mine is SLIGHTLY ahead so it's just funny that I have to wait to blurt out answers.

Also, as some of you are not adhering to my rules, plllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease no more forwards. I'm so over them and they just make me sad when I see them. Lame.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

So today was early.

I got up and ready and was all excited because it wasn't snowing even though we did get a few inches overnight last night...then at 8:45 right before I was going to leave wouldn't you know it but it started snowing. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh great. So anyway, here I am in my interview clothes and ballet flats navigating through the windy snow and ice to the subway. I'm impressed I didn't bite it and lived to tell the tale. Well done me.

First I went to the Upper West Side for an interview, it was for the Broadway Hotel & Hostel. It is basically a hostel so it's busy and crawling with Euro kids. It wouldn't be my ideal job but it would be something in the meantime anyway. We'll see. It's just front desk so it wouldn't really be enough to really survive on but, again we'll see.

Then after traveling AGAIN through the weather I came home for awhile and did some more job hunting and ate then went to 40th Street for this other "interview". Oy what a joke. It was really for a temp service so I ended up talking with this lady who was very over critical of the fact that I wasn't wearing winter boots? Wtf lady you don't know me biiiiiiiiitch. So I went in with a pretty bad attitude towards the situation anyway as she was a bitch on the phone too. Anyway I went there and obliged to a typing test, 78 words per minute, beat that. But whatever. So I did that and was going to treat myself to some Magnolia but was too tired of dealing with the snow so I just came home instead and am JUST starting to warm up again. Too much time out in the snow, wind, ice, and I pretty much managed to step in EVERY puddle from here to there and back. Figures. I should've been wearing winter boots. Because that looks professional with an interview outfit. Whatevs.

But tonight has been okay, just hung out and watched Tool Academy with Stuart. Those dudes are truly tools. Oy.

But good news is that one of the girls that I worked with on the island, Kayla is coming to NYC on Sunday! Holla! We're going out for tea and what not, I'm pretty excited. Two, this is the really exciting one...I'm sooooooooooooooo excited. Russell Brand is going to be signing books at the Union Square Barnes and Noble next WEEK!!! OMG I am so excited. If you don't know who Russell is, well he's pictured above but he's a British comedian. So excited!!! I'm thinking about getting tickets to his comedy show too, I wasn't going to but really? Am I going to really have another chance to see him? Probably not.

Might as well right?

Okay Im off to warm myself under blankets and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Best day ever?

So today was completely mindless but I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

I got up and ready early, as per usual and got Starbucks...wasn't the same without Cody but good all the same.

After that just came home and put on lounge clothes and did NOTHING all day. How fantastic? Very.

I watched some college ball, talked to Lisa, watched some more college ball, talked to Lisa, watched Rock of Love (the old ones, the new one is on in like 5 minutes!!!) and applied for some jobs.

Which is weird, I applied for some jobs on craigslist and I got two calls for interviews today! Weird? Weird. I'm going to one tomorrow for Broadway Hotel & Hostel and then Wednesday for a new hotel that is opening in Chinatown.

I am also going to an interview tomorrow with this lady from a temp service. I'm debating on calling it off though. She said I "wasn't qualified for the job and didn't know enough about Jersey City", yeah the job is in Jersey City but I "might as well come in anyway". I think Lisa might be close that she's a temp agent and has to bring in so many clients. We'll see. I also plan on calling Furnished Quarters to see if they made any decisions for the housekeeping supervisor position yet.

Oy.

Busy day, must tend to Rock of Love, Ohhhhh yeah a trashy but fab end to a boring but fab day!

Ps I just watched Rock of Love, OMG it is the best episode EVER!!!! BIIIIIIIIIITCH. Love you miss you mean it.

Pss Pics of two of my fave things today.

Five hours reduced to this.

Today Today Today...

I was pretty impressed with myself today as usually I manage to get up at 7am promptly or at 8am at the VERY latest, but low and behold I did get up at 7am then decided to lay back down and wouldn't you know it, I slept until 10am!

That was basically the most exciting part of my day!

After that I took my time getting ready and ate then went down to Union Square, wandered through the market and went into some shops and sat in the park until I froze and then decided to head back uptown. Went to Barnes & Noble and got a British House and Gardens magazine...then got some snacks and came home.

That all in all actually took close to five hours, but it's just not worth throwing in the details. I walked two blocks to here then back...blahblahblah.

Anyway I'm already ready for bed and will be heading there soon! Tomorrow it's suppose to snow so I think I'm going to just get up and go to Starbucks then stay home for the day and watch all the college basketball games! Get excited!!!

An open letter to Today.

Dear Today,

You were a lot more fun than yesterday. Well done! Our morning together was rather slow and boring as we took the precious time to apply for a much needed job on my end. You were right to suggest that we go out early in case it rained, you're so smart.

Going to the Museum of Modern Art was fun, don't you think? I agree that people were walking too slow and what's with people taking 800 pictures while you're at a museum? Whatever happened to just enjoying your time at the MUSEUM? I don't know, I thought it was crazy. We did see some fun things though! Waterlillies by Monet...some Picassos, lots of Pollocks...overall I'd say the MoMA was a heck of a lot better than the Guggenheim, but you wouldn't know that as you're Today and not last Sunday. My favorite part, besides the gift shop, was the Frida Kahlos. She even got a bad ass frame to go with her bad ass art. You go Frida!

The gift shops were, as expected, AMAZING. But I resisted buying anything. :( Sad times.

After that we traveled to H&M where we got an amazing deal on a cute shirt ($5!!) and an umbrella so next time if it does rain, Mother Nature won't hold me back! Take that!

Then it was home again, nothing too exciting has been going on but it's been a good day overall don't you think Today?

I'll miss you tomorrow.

Love,

Cassidy

Ps. I'm not cracking up just tired and wanted a new format...and Today was pretty awesome, thanks for being awesome Today!

Pss. The pictures are brought to you today by the internet, is there nothing that internet can't do?

I meant to mention this yesterday but I forgot until I opened my email today...stop forwarding shit! I mean really. I NEVER read forwards, EVER. If you really want me to know something, at least trick me and take the FW: off the subject line. I never read them, or forward them so just don't...or I'll have to send the John Gotti poster after you.

It's nearly the weekend?

I don't know about you guys but today was terribly boring. I did not sleep at all last night, thank you Equate Sleep Aids, and was pretty grumpy today.

I got up and watched Stuart on tv...yeah he's a celebrity. It's a long story but basically he was speed dating the other night and some chick is doing a 90 day love thing for a tv show and she picked him as her number one so he went on the tv show she's working with and did an interview.

So I watched that and got ready and then was like hmmmm what do to today? I wanted to go to a museum but was too groggy to really go and fully appreciate it so instead I just wandered around for a bit in the hood and came back. Totally thrilling I know. I can't entertain you guys everyday okay??

I did apply for some jobs today and we'll see how that goes.

Tomorrow I am going to the MoMA and then not sure. Apparently also on my list of things to do tomorrow would be buying an umbrella as I know I had one and now it's disappeared. What will really grind my gears is that I know I'll find it as soon as I buy another. Just how it always happens you know?

Oh well.

Anyway I'm off to bed, I'm over today and just done.

Note: Picture above is brought to you by yesterday. Thank you yesterday for being entertaining unlike today.

Freedom certainly ain't free yo.

So today was not my best day ever. Let's just preface this whole blog with a few facts:
I hate water.
I hate ferries.
I get motion sickness.
I have anxiety like you would not believe.
Keep these things in mind while you are reading the proceeding account.
So I got up early and got ready to go to Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty as the Weather Channel told me "winds were light and variable". So okay, I figured it would be safe day to attempt the ferry rides over to the islands.
So I got up and ready and headed downtown, which was nice because I did figure out that the 4 & 5 express trains near my apartment ran right down to Battery Park...but not so nice because it was rush hour time so it was hella busy on the subway. At least of my friends on the subway got off at 42nd or Wall Street. Suckas.
Anyway so I got to the ticket booth and did the security blah blah blah and went to the ferry. Here's the worst part of my day. The ferry was against some tires or something to prevent it from bumping against the dock too much but it was windy. And the ferry seats weren't facing front but to the sides if that makes sense. That was pretty much the end. I HATE being on ferries, thank you so much Mackinac Island for scaring me for life. Anyway so I was sitting there thinking about how I didn't want to get sick and managed to get myself SO stressed out that I actually cried. Yeah, I'm pretty awesome at blowing everything out of proportion. Yay! So FINALLY the ferry left so I just dealt with it. We got to Liberty Island and I calmed myself down...oy.
So Liberty Island was cool but there isn't much there, well clearly the Statue of Liberty. I didn't pay for the extra junk but I took some pictures and then went to the gift shop, totally lame. Well unless you wanted a Statue of Liberty ranging in height from three to like 30 inches. Wasn't something I was in the market for so I left. Peace out Lady Liberty. She is very photogenic though. Whatta gal.
The ferry ride to Ellis Island wasn't as bad so that was good. Ellis Island was infinitely more interesting/cooler than Liberty Island. They have a museum and part of it is set up like the immigrants would've went through...medical exams, etc. I thought that was the coolest part of the whole place. Word. So I went through that and tried to make the gift shop cool but again, no market for me and a Statue of Liberty statue.
After that I was ready to get back to Manhattan, it may be an island but it's still accessible by a bridge. Thank goodness!
So I got on the subway and came home, went to the grocery store and just ate lunch and after all the stress and Dramamine I've been pretty much dead to the world.
I think the rest of the night has a sleeping pill in order and finishing flipping in between the Knicks game and the Bulls game ...okay at that point my mom called and then I totally forgot I was blogging. Ooops, I got way distracted by tortilla chips and updating Lisa on my NBA info for the night. Dur.
Anyway I'm pretty much done blogging so I'm off to watch some basketball then bedtime for sure.
Still not really sure what the plan for tomorrow is..maybe a museum, maybe Little Italy...we shall see.
I'm open to suggestions!

TLC takes up too much of my time.

Today was a fun day overall. I was originally attemping to go to the MOMA, Museum of Modern Art and was planning on spending the afternoon there then who knows...well that was fine and dandy until I realized at like 11:30am that it's not open on Tuesdays. Ugh.

So my backup plan was to go to the History Museum which was a good plan until I realized that I wouldn't get there until 1/1:30 and there are four floors and my ticket includes the Space Show so I just didn't feel like rushing. So instead I walked from my house across Central Park stopping here and there to view things...like Cleopatra's Needle...Now Cleo and I have a beef on going because I wanted to see the needle in London and it took me literally about three months to find it and that was purely on accident when my mom was visiting...and wouldn't you know today just randomly walking I happened upon the one in Central Park, it's super close to my house too. Oh Cleo. Oh well. So I saw that and a few other things, I took some pictures but I'm too lazy to try to retrieve them today so you'll have to wait until tomorrow.

After that I did get to see Strawberry Fields, nothing to write home about or blog about.

After that I walked down the park to 6th Avenue/Avenue of the Americas and walked from there to 46th Street. 46th wasn't coincendental...I walked there and down in between 2nd and 3rd to see Spark's Steakhouse. I know I know you're already like what the hell does a vegetarian want with a steakhouse? Well first off, they have fish. But that's not why I wanted to go. It's the restaurant that Paul Castellano was killed at. John Gotti hired a hit on Paul so he could be head of the Gambino crime family and Paul was killed right outside that restaurant! Yay for being a mafia geek! It was cool though and I still want to eat there before too long.

After that I walked back up Lex and then 2nd home. Just hung out for the rest of the day. I'm pretty exhausted now. Walking lots is tiring! So I've been watching lots of TLC. Dang. These Toddler and Tiara people are mental.

I think tomorrow is going to be the Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty tour as the wind is suppose to be minimal which is a good thing for me.

Also today my mom asked if I've lost any weight from all the walking...I'm not sure because this week has been full of Easter candy. I ate the whole bag of peanut butter cups, ugh I want more!! I also have gotten Stuart addicted to Cadbury Mini Eggs, I'm an enabler like that.

Anyway I'm off to sleep. I'll post tomorrow with more pics.

G'nite!

Creeper

I totally was just a creeper but...they asked for it. The people across the street had their lights on and curtains open. You're just asking for it! I love when people do that though, it's my fave being nosy!
And I'm pretty sure the people across the street have a pool table.

If I can make it here I'll make it anywhere?

So today was interview day. I got up at 7am. Why do I keep doing this for no reason other than I just get up? Oy. Anyway, so I got up and did laundry during the morning which was fun, yeah I love to do laundry. I can't help it.

After that I got ready and went to the interview. I was a bit early so I walked around then went to the interview. I was expecting to interview with the Director of Operations but ended up interviewing with him, his assistant, and the Human Resources Director! OY! Needless to say the interview was an hour and a half long and I walked out of there completely wiped out. Lots of stress. Overall I think it went well but it was hella stressful. We shall see, they said they would contact me within 24 hours so who knows.

After that just came home and hung out. Stuart is out speed dating and I stayed home and made a ridiculously large amount of pasta and ate it all....just been watching the Louisville game. March Madness is certainly starting to set in, even I was yelling at the tv today. Damn I love college ball!!! I got to see Jalen Rose on tv the other day and I still love him! Sigh.

Tomorrow I'm trying to decide what to do. It's definately a museum day but just not sure what museum. I have access to a few so we'll see. Probably going to hit up MOMA and the Natural History Museum. The wind is suppose to only be 3mph on Wednesday so that seems like the best day for me to go to Ellis Island. I can't handle the winds/ferry, if you need more explanation let's just say there was a fateful trip back from WalMart with the managers last spring where it ended up being so bad that Miranda had to literally HOLD my head on her lap and I STILL got sick over the StarLine docks. Jealous? Yeah it was amazing.

We'll see what ends up happening. I wouldn't mind sleeping in and then going out and about and seeing what the day brings.

Did everyone watch the Oscars last night? I tried really hard to have an open mind about them but oy it was too hokey for me. I was cringing when Hugh Jackman had that big musical number with Beyonce and the High School Musical crew, yikes. It was shortly there after I had to turn it off.
Also, just for the record. I love nothing more than the feeling that you're reading a book you cannot/will not put down and for the first time in awhile I found one. So EXCITED! Creepily it's a true crime about Ted Binion who was involved with the Horseshoe casino in Vegas and his greedy trophy girlfriend murdered him with her new boyfriend. Yeah I'm totally loving it, it's ridiculous. It's called Murder in Sin City in case you wanna check it out.

Anyway I should get going...I'll keep you all posted on the job situation. I think if I do get the job my treat to myself with my tax refund is going to be a Knicks game! Or the Big East Tourney is at Madison Square Garden so might try to get tickets to that...hmmmm.

Two things.

Two things you might not know about me.

One, this is really driving me nuts, especially right this minute, I HATE hearing people chew. Stuart is eating chips or something and it seriously driving me bonkers. I realize that chewing is a necessary evil but OY it makes me grind my teeth.

Two, I was thinking about badass things I own and one thing came to mind that I cannot wait to settle somewhere so I can put it back up. That is my two John Gotti posters. My roommates bought them for me my sophomore year of college and they have to be the coolest things by far that I own. What is more menacing than John Gotti staring you down from the hallway. I love it.

Modern Art be damned.

So today I got up and ready and took my time, it's Sunday after all, what's the rush...I was pretty pumped though to go to the Guggenheim Museum and start my City Pass for the city. I got there and was immediatley disappointed, mainly with the fact that it was about 93 degrees inside the building. But I went ahead and got my City Pass and was lead on a circle of betrayal by the Guggenheim.

First off, I should've known better than to try to enjoy myself on a Sunday, strike that-RAINY Sunday afternoon. I mean really it's a perfect museum day for EVERYONE! So there were tons of people there which if you know me you know I hate people. So the two proceeding facts, it being hotter than hell and lots of people really didn't help my cause. Also the staff was nazish. Some guy nudged me into a painting and I accidently brushed the frame and the girl was all in a huff like I just licked the painting or something. I also witnessed a couple that was standing somewhat close to a painting and one of the staff members was all "Uhhh back away"...Uhhh you can suck it.

Anyway. So the art inside was also a joke I thought. I don't really love modern art but I can usually deal and I generally enjoyed myself at the Tate in London. But this was just shit. It was like a piece of white paper with a coin on it, wheee...and stuff that you think to youself "I could've made that" or "A three year old could've made that". Oy. Oh well, even the gift shop was lame which I find to be a good judge of what the museum is like. LAME.

Hopefully the rest of the city pass won't be such a sham.

After that I walked around in the rain and went into a few stores but I have made the decision that this week, outside of buying a new 30 metro card, I will not be making any purchases. I have spent a lot of money and not having a job sort of hurts. We'll see. At least I have all this week to use my City Pass so that's technically already paid for so it works.

I ended up going to the grocery store today and getting some batteries and beer, exciting right? And yes it's true, the Guggenheim drove me to drink.

Today I have nothing else planned as it is a rainy miserable mess outside. Just going to watch tv and hang out. Tomorrow I plan to get up early and do laundry then just hang out and then go to the interview at 2pm then maybe tomorrow I'll hit up a museum.

Long story short, things might be beautiful from the outside but not so much on the inside.

FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR!!!

Being agnostic I don't practice any religion...errr duh I guess that would be evident by the second word of this blog. BUT I do freaking ADORE this time of year. You Catholics are alright with your lent time of year. I LOVE FISH SANDWICHES and they are starting to come out with a bang.
Here's an homage of fish sandwiches.
Hungry yet? I love it. I might have to get one post-Guggenheiming.

Overeating Saturday

Today wasn't anything too special. I didn't sleep well last night so I was pretty crabby all day. Hurrah!

I got up and ready and went to see where my interview is on Monday and then went to Lush and did not buy anything for myself, shock and horror I know. After that I wandered for a bit but got annoyed pretty easily with the people gawking and walking slow...Some advise, if you happen to find yourself walking in front of me, speed it up. I hate slow walkers. After that I came back to the Upper East Side, got some groceries and came home, watched the game...lounged out...went for a walk down Park about an hour ago and just ate some food and am planning on bed really soon.

Tomorrow it's suppose to be rainy so I think I'm going to go to the Guggenheim and get my fancy City Pass. And probably just kick it around here tomorrow, I'm not feeling great either so I want to take it easy pre-interview so I'm not a coughing/runny nose mess at the interview.

I have successfully been overeating all day today though so holla for that. I got a bag of Baked Lays Cheedar Cheese and Sour Cream chips and pretty much ate the whole big bag, and I'm knocking off the Annie's Graham Bunnies tonight.

Loves it.

Friday, February 20, 2009

So my neighbor was singing Jesus Christ Superstar on the roof...jealous?

That's for Lisa, the title but it is a true story. Someone was singing JCS on the roof at the top of their lungs. Mind you they were a good singer so eh what can you do?

Today was suppose to be a busy day but my body punked out on me early. I got up early, again? Why??? And got ready and went to Rockefeller to watch the crazies, who were disappointing. Although they did WOOOOOOO a lot and did sing along to the song even though NKOTB was INSIDE. Oy. I got to talk to Miranda though, and Miette so that was good...it's been awhile!

After that I went to Barnes and Noble to warm up and got a book and cute notecards...I was there though for easily over an hour...just trying to get warm. After that I tried to go to H&M and wasn't impressed so I went to the NBA Store and got Lisa some stuff for her birthday and got myself a Knicks hoodie. Not a bad day but at that point I was so cold and rundown that I went home.

After that I came home and just watched Casino & The Godfather II, I love you AMC. And then have just been hanging out since then.

No plans for tomorrow outside of going to see where the interview on Monday is and game time at 2pm. Then I might go back out and about and then we'll see..

Sunday I'm going to get the City Pass that gives you access to four museums, the Empire State Building and Ellis Island, not a bad deal.

Have a good night!!!

Ps one day I want to live in a fancy pants apartment building like this.
Nothing to do with NYC but I want these books.

I wish I was clever.

If I was clever then these blogs would have really ridiculously funny titles and life would be a little sweeter, but sadly it's 8:43pm and quite honestly I'm pretty much ready for bed. Oh well.

Today was nothing too majorly exciting. I got up and ready and did some job applying and then after I went out and about. I was going to go to the Strand which is this bookstore that claims to have 18 miles of books but on my way there I got a call from Logan and it was lunchtime!

Logan is this guy that has a house in Boston that I was thinking about staying at. It's south of Dorchester though and supposedly not in a great area. Anyway, I've been emailing with him for about five months about possibly living there and he happened to be in town so we met up for lunch.

I had to wander for a loooooooooooong time as he was late but no worries, it's Greenwich Village, there's always something to see there! After we met up we did dine and it was delicious!!! We went to Red Bamboo which is solely a vegetarian restaurant and it was delightful! He's a cool guy too and it was good to put a face with the name.

After lunch I went back, again, intending to go to the Strand but walked in and out, too many people and not enough patience. So I went to Barnes & Noble instead, wandered around there for a bit then came home after a trip to WalGreens which produced the most excitment of my day....EASTER CANDY!

I'm not fond of holidays but damn the do some good work with the candy, and Easter candy seems to know how to kick it especially well. I got Cadbury Mini Eggs (READ: NOT the gross creamy cousin with all that business in the middle, sick) and Reese's Mini Eggs. Mini eggs were basically the theme.

Then I came home and have been slightly comatose since then. I'm totally ready to pack it in for the night.

Other good news is I have a job interview on Monday! Hurrah! It's a housekeeping supervisor for this company that has apartments all over Manhattan. They do long term stays and I think it could be fun. I'm going to scope out the main office tomorrow so I know where I'm going on Monday. Exciting!

Also tomorrow I am going to the Today Show for the 10am hour...but don't think you'll see me there. I am going for one reason. New Kids on the Block are there BUT they are performing INSIDE and I'm just totally anxious to see all the crazies that took time off work and came from out of state to see NKOTB perform INSIDE where you CANNOT see them. Gotta love it! My plan is getting coffee and cupcakes and LAUGHING. I shall be photographing it for posterity reasons only.

Speaking of pictures, ya'll can just stop expecting new pics once I run out of the few I have left. My intentions were to take a new pic every day but that has just not happened and I'm totally uninterested in doing such a thing. You might get lucky though as I am going to invest in a City Pass which gives you admission to like four museums, the Empire State Building and either a Circle Line tour or a tour of Ellis Island. I'm going to go to Ellis Island I think. Anyway, so past that you can just expect that the pictures aren't going to be plentiful.

Alright, I'm exhausted and totally babbling.

So g'nite from NYC.

Wednesday or Thursday?

Yeah I was basically confused all day as to if it was Wednesday or Thursday. All day. I'm magical like that.

Today was rain/snow here and knowing that going into the day I got up early and got ready. Then I took a little walk, got Starbucks (their oatmeal is truly perfect) and then came back and applied for jobs all day and that was about it.

Took a nap, read, watched tv...etc.

I'm making a scarf too...with the fancy Noro yarn and I'm digging it so far so that's good.

And Louisville is on tonight so that's that pretty much. I love you college basketball.

Tomorrow I'm meeting Logan, who I almost lived with in Boston for lunch so that'll be fun then not sure. Going to do something I'm sure.

Exciting right?

Tofurky.

Tuesday---
For some reason today I got up at 7am? Wtf. I was so disappointed with myself but whatever. I got up and just woke up with some tv and then randomly at 8am some lady called and wanted to know if I could do a phone interview at 9:15. So all in all it was good I got up early. Anyway the interview was for an Overnight Supervisor at the Ritz Carlton in Westchester which would be perfect if Westchester wasn't practically in Connecticut. We'll see how it goes and go from there. The job wouldn't be bad but the human resources guy was retarded. One of the questions was "Did you make friends at your last job?" And I sort of laughed and might have said "Really?" And he just said "I just ask the questions." Errr okay. But we'll see. It's funny though, if you google the directions from where I'm at now to the hotel it literally, by public transit mode I should specify, says to take the 6 train then a real train then "Walk to Unknown Road for 32 minutes". Fantastic! I'll get right on that!
Oh well. Like I said we'll see how it goes and figure things out from there.
After that I got ready and went out for a walk around the hood and it was cold out here! So then I got the train to Union Square which is fast becoming one of my favorite parts of Manhattan. 14th Street and below, lots of cool shops and fun things. BUT my only goal for today was Whole Foods (for tofurky lunchmeat...oooohhhh my. Literally I was salivating about this all morning until I got some), a new cd, and a new magazine. I went to Virgin but Tom Jones, yes I was looking for the new Tom Jones cd, what about it, was $ 18.99...out of the budget TJ. And no magazines to speak of. So I went to Whole Foods.
It was rad, I missed that store. I got my Tofurky so all is right in the world. Plus they blew my mind in that the store is mostly downstairs so you get a cart downstairs, shop, and then there is a special escalator for the shopping cart and you hold on to the cart while you both ride upstairs, technology never ceases to amaze me.
After that I came home and ate half a package of Tofurky, you can see my day was consumed. I also am highly recommending Annie's Bunny Grahams in the honey flavor, simply delicious!
Nothing too exciting this afternoon just pretended to apply for jobs and tried to nap. Ate dinner and then got antsy so I went for a walk and tried to find a freaking magazine but NOOOOO. What the heck is up with that anyway? I mean really, it's one of the boringest months of the year and you give me nothing for magazines? Shame on you magazines. I really thought we had a good relationship but clearly we are fighting.
After that just came home, watched Lie to Me with Stuart, not worth the time my friends. Sorry Tim Roth, just another disappointment of the day.
Now I'm ready to go to bed.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to get up reasonably early and I'm pretty pumped to go to Starbucks and get a coffee? I don't know. Somethings you just can't explain. Nothing too much planned for tomorrow as it's suppose to sleet tomorrow afternoon/night here. Might try to go out and about in the morning. We'll see. At least Louisville plays tomorrow!
Anyway I'm off to bed.
And you should probably go out and buy some Tofurky and Annie's cookies. Go. Seriously.
